Microsoft has gradually phased out the Control Panel, and more sections are being moved to the Windows Settings app. It appears like the next Windows 11 update, which might be a cumulative or small feature update, would shift additional Control Panel pages to the Settings app.
Microsoft updated the Settings programme in Windows 11 and began the transition to the new interface. In many respects, the Windows 11 feature upgrade simplified many capabilities for consumers by migrating every option present in the Control Panel to the Windows Settings.
The settings app now uses WinUI and is prepared for a contemporary future with several design modifications. According to individuals familiar with the matter, Microsoft intends to migrate everything from Control Panel to the Settings app at some point in the future as part of its long-term migration efforts.
More applications loaded on the smartphone can now be removed with the new update. Because the Settings app does not recognise certain Windows programmes, including Win32 desktop software, some apps can only be deleted through the Control Panel at the present.
Finally, using the Settings app, you may uninstall all Win32 programmes. This feature was previously only available in Control Panel, as previously stated. Apps with interdependencies can also be removed. Steam and gaming programmes, for example, run on Steam, as do repair and modification of Win32 software.
Of course, the Control Panel isn't going away because the migration is still ongoing. Many important pages are in the Control Panel, but the Redmond behemoth is gradually approaching the point when the Control Panel will no longer be necessary for the majority of activities.
However, the shift has been gradual, and both the Control Panel and the Settings continue to coexist in Windows.
According to reports, Microsoft has already cancelled Windows 11 23H2 in order to focus on minor feature upgrades while working on the next version of the operating system, Windows 10.
